Join Community Coalition

Northern BC Animal Welfare Initiative

The first initiative of the Community Coalition is the Northern BC Animal Welfare Initiative aimed at improving the lives of companion animals in the Hwy 16 corridor between Prince George and Prince Rupert.

CAAT conducted a 10-day, two-site spay neuter clinic in Burns Lake and Southside in June 2011 as part of the Community Pet Care Event organized by Lakes Animal Friendship Society.

Over 250 dogs and cats were spayed or neutered, and even more received a health check along with vaccination and de-worming. The work put into this event by the tireless organizers Valerie Ingram and Alistair Schroff of Lakes Country Animal Friendship Society, the Canadian Animal Assistance Team and the volunteers was simply amazing.
